Tricks and Shortcuts
One of my main goals when developing PinkCal is that things should be easy. But easy does not necessarily mean obvious.
Once you have PinkCal installed, give the following a try:
Make PinkCal the current active
application (click on it's title bar) then press the Enter
key.
Result: a day planner for "today" opens.
In the day planner type in something for 8:00 AM and press Enter.
Type a single quote character and press Enter
again.
Result: PinkCal copies the entry from
8:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
Go back to 8:00 AM and delete the entry and press Enter.
Result: PinkCal deletes the
entry it added at 8:30 AM.
Open a day planner, type something in and then press Ctrl-R (hold
down the Ctrl key and press the r
key).
Result: quick access to the "Repeat" options.
On the main window, left and right-click on the >>
a few times. Now right-click on the month/year part of the display.
Result: the main window jumps back to the current month.
Enter http://www.yahoo.com into
your day planner (at noon tomorrow).
Result: At noon tomorrow PinkCal will
open your web browser and navigate to Yahoo!
Look in C:\Program Files\Pink Calendar.
Notice the backup.month files - these
files are copies of old PinkCal.data files.
Copy one of these files to PinkCal.data
to floppy disk and run the Restore
command on it.
Result: PinkCal restores day planner
entries from the file.
When a reminder window pops up, press the d key. Result: the reminder window closes and the entry is deleted from your day planner.
Other shortcuts:
Use the Esc key to close any PinkCal window (or minimize the main window).
On the main window, click on the month/year part of the display to open the year view.
Right click on the main window to open the week view.
In the day planner, use Ctrl-Delete to "cut" the current entry.
